Last week I spent all of Monday killing, plucking, and eviscerating 53 turkeys. It was just part of my job there at Just This Farm. I didn’t enjoy that part of my job at all. But I did it knowing that a real healthy, free range, local turkey was going to be served at Thanksgiving tables here in Columbus. I will spare you the details, but I did my best to make the procedure as humane as possible. I think everyone who chooses to eat meat should be a part of some process like this.
